Our materials

Every material we produce undergoes a production control, and meets CE marking certification, in compliance with Safety Requirements and EU Guidelines.

Some of the raw materials used in our formulations are:
  • Slaked lime powder with a very high calcium hydrate ratio;
  • Historical natural pozzolans of highest pozzolanic reaction;
  • Carbonate and silica sands, as in historical records;
  • Tufa powder and national sandstone;
  • Colored sands resulting from the crushing of local marble;
  • Gravel of different colors and size;
  • “Cocciopesto” of different color and thickness.

Pantheon Pozzolanic Lime Mortar

Pantheon Pozzolanic Lime Mortar was developed and produced throughout the years. Its formulation was obtained after a thorough investigation of Roman mortars found in the extraordinary and enduring momuments studied, and is the synthesis of all binders described in historical records: Calx intrita, pulvis baianus, testa tunsam, pumex, sabulum. This ancient but futuristic binder is perfectly compatible with any ancient historical structure, and is extremely versatile in the preparation of formulated mortars. It contains neither water-soluble salts, nor free lime, or any form of clinker, or other inaccurate material, as expressed in the “Rule of Art”. Pantheon Pozzolanic Lime Mortar is designed and produced by the Calchèra San Giorgio, and is the basis of all hydraulic-setting mortars employed in the composition of powder compounds.
