Features and how to apply it
Ancient marmorino, or Venetian stucco, is a particular covering for both interiors and exteriors, obtained by mixing seasoned slaked lime with selected and pure marble powder, resulting in a unique chromatic effect.
This material does not contain any chemical elements and is biocompatible (almost 100%).
Furthermore, it is breathable, applicable in any environment, and available in different color variations so you can decorate your living room or bedroom as you wish.
Ancient marmorino: how to apply it
In order to make antique marmorino, you need to have a very clean, dry, well-seasoned support that does not show signs of dusting; any non-adherent or inconsistent parts must be removed beforehand.
Before application, prepare the base by applying a coat of potassium silicate filler paint.
Once the surface is completely dry, apply a first coat evenly with an “American” steel spatula. When the first coat is completely dry (10-12 hours), apply the second coat evenly, creating a flat surface without depressions, but without polishing.
When the second coat is not yet completely dry, apply a third coat “wet on wet”, ensuring that the pressure of the spatula causes the marble granules to penetrate the previously applied coat. During the drying phase, carry out smoothing with the edge of the inclined spatula until the surface is extremely marble-like smooth.
Ancient marmorino: advantages
Now, however, the question arises spontaneously: “Why should you choose antique marmorino?”
Well, first of all, it is a very economical material compared to marble, and is able to give a final effect almost the same as the latter.
It is also a recyclable, long-lasting solution, guarantees breathability and has excellent protection against humidity.
Furthermore, it is extremely malleable, very easy to apply, and is ideal for creating decorative elements in bas-relief, such as floral compositions.
