Architecture that becomes poetry

Brion Tomb is a monumental funeral
complex, located along the original border of the small cemetery of

St
. Vitus

of Altivole (TV). It was designed and built by the architect

Carlo Scarpa
 commissioned by
Onorina Brion Tomasin, to honor the memory of the late and
beloved relative

Giuseppe Brion
,
founder and owner of

Brionvega
and
to preserve his remains there. The complex was erected between

1970
 and
1978
, the year in which the architect died. He himself wanted to be
buried in this place, in a secluded position with respect to the complex
monumental. Brion Tomb is a work that surprises for its careful research
of
form
graphic and decorative, an “express form
that becomes poetry
” as Scarpa
Called. A place that has the anguishing sense of oblivion while being
surrounded by death.
