The giant of Gianbologna

Work of art was erected in 1580 by the Flemish artist Jean de Boulogne, known as the Giambologna.  The statue of this thoughtful giant, however, was not made of stone but of masonry and was then covered with plaster and stone. It became a UNESCO heritage site in 2013.
