The Royal Charterhouse of Collegno was born as a monastery in the city of Collegno, an Italian municipality in the metropolitan city of Turin; the construction of the Charterhouse was commissioned in 1641 by Christina of France, regent of Savoy, on the architectural model of the Grande Chartreuse of Grenoble
