Features and benefits
Today we want to talk to you about Pantheon Pozzolanica Lime, one
solution designed and created by our School of Masonry Art Calchéra San
Giorgio, which represents the basis of all types of setting mortars
hydraulics used for the composition of powdered materials.
This binder was obtained after a long and thorough process
research on Roman binders, which structure wonderful and long-lived monuments.
Furthermore, it is perfectly compatible with historic structures
of any generation and is very versatile during the preparation phase
of expressly formulated mortars.
Pozzolanic lime
Pantheon: advantages
Now that you understand the importance and effectiveness of this
particular lime, let’s see what its advantages are:
- It does not change breathability
of the masonry, thus avoiding condensation problems; - It does not contain water-soluble salts,
free lime, and any type of clinker; - Allows you to avoid mold,
bacteria, keeping plasters and decorations in excellent condition in the long term; - High resistance to
alkaline aggressions; - It has no considered sulfates
very dangerous (as they are able to crystallize with different
amount of water); - Compatible with materials
employed and with the various supports involved; - Eco-friendly material, mineral,
composed of natural raw materials; - It has no free lime, i.e. a
say uncombined lime;
Free lime, in fact, is extremely harmful, why not
finding air (CO2) to be able to harden inside the structures from
consolidate, it remains in the paste for a long time, damaging the stability of the
artifacts subjected to consolidation.
And all those monuments that we can still admire today,
they are present because the mortars can aggregate the stones or bricks not
contain free lime.
