smooth stucco

Whether in powder or paste, smooth stucco is an essential product for home restoration or for carrying out work. In particular, stucco is used to make walls that need to be prepared for a particular type of decoration smoother, but not only that, it can also be used to fill any holes or cracks. Let’s see how to make the correct choice.

Smooth paste stucco, ready to use

The smooth paste stucco is a ready-to-use product.

Easy to apply, it is also ideal for those who are not very familiar with these products. On the market it is found in the form of a dense and easy-to-shape paste. Normally it is enough to take a quantity and work it with the appropriate spatulas for a few minutes, after which the product regains its plasticity and is very easy to apply.

For small repairs or decorations it may be preferable to purchase this format of stucco, precisely because it is more practical and easier to use. Elastic and mouldable , it is a truly versatile product.

Smooth powdered stucco

The difference with the stucco that was previously described is that the latter comes in the form of a powder . To be able to be used it must therefore necessarily be mixed with water. It is therefore necessary to prepare it before using it. Care must be taken to ensure that the product is mixed evenly and without the formation of lumps.

It goes without saying that if you want a thicker product you will have to add a smaller quantity of water, otherwise you will have to dilute it more consistently. The advantage of powdered stucco is that you can prepare a generous quantity of it, for example to smooth a wall.

Which of the two

It cannot be said which of the two types of stucco is better to buy because it depends on the type of work to be done, your manual skills and the budget available. In both cases the drying period is quite short and it can be overpainted within 24 hours.
