Ceiling stuccos
In the past, ceiling stuccos were the prerogative of noble houses. Sumptuous living rooms with vaults decorated with large stucco rosettes , weavings and acanthus leaves, even with bunches of lush grapes, were the most popular decorative motifs. Certainly, this type of decorative subject today would be a little excessive in our much more modern homes, but ceiling stuccos are always current, perhaps declined in a more modern perspective.
Stucco for ceilings, not just classic style
If what we described before was practically a decorative cliché of sumptuous times gone by, today this type of decoration is revisited and modernized to make our homes even more refined and precious without weighing them down.
Obviously decorative stucco is itself an element of the classic furnishing style, but it can also be integrated perfectly into a more modern home by reinterpreting contemporary taste and style , even with essential furnishings.
What is stucco and how is it used for decorations
Stucco is a mixture composed, in its original recipe, of slaked lime and marble dust . Today the mixture is made in such a way as to obtain a material with different characteristics of softness, roughness and viscosity, depending on the use to be made of it.
In particular, for the creation of ceiling decorations , stucco defined as authentic is used, i.e. plaster stucco , an ancient compound which has a notable elasticity and great aesthetic impact.
Which decorations to choose
The choice of ceiling stucco must be made based on the type of decoration we want to create. This, in turn, depends on the style of the rest of the house. Therefore, if the furnishings are modern, the advice is to opt for simple and geometric frames. On the contrary, if the furnishings are classic, you can also dare with elaborate rosettes.
